NaNoWriMo Club{327c43d9-e59e-4fe0-8295-efaf4ec1418a}NaNoWriMo Club<p>​What do the books Water for Elephants, The Night Circus, Wool, Fangirl, and Cinder have in common? They were born during NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), the biggst writing event in the world. If you love to daydream and write stories, then join us and write a novel or novella during the month of November. No experience necessary! All you provide is your imagination and sense of adventure. Beginning players learn about the basics of the game and advanced players prepare to compete in the annual chess tournament.<br></p><p><br></p>
Drama Club{327c43d9-e59e-4fe0-8295-efaf4ec1418a}Drama Club<p><strong> </strong>Drama Club is designed for members to learn the basics of theater while getting to know each other and express themselves creatively.  We spend the fall semester playing lots of games related to pantomime and improv, and we work really hard during the spring semester to put on a play!  Drama Club is open to all students who want to have fun and be a little crazy!  It's the best afternoon of the week. International School to School Exchange (ISSE){327c43d9-e59e-4fe0-8295-efaf4ec1418a}International School to School Exchange (ISSE)<p>​The International School-to-School Experience (ISSE) is a unique international program at Angevine that provides for the exchange of thoughts and ideas through face-to-face contact with children from other countries around the world. It is non-profit, non-political, and non-religious in nature.</p>
Kids Who Code Club{327c43d9-e59e-4fe0-8295-efaf4ec1418a}Kids Who Code ClubKids who code is a club to promote interest in coding. Students will work with an undergraduate student from CU Boulder to learn about computer coding languages and create projects. We are receiving funding through  the SciGirls Code program. There will be three main units, focused on Robotics, App Design and E-Textiles. Each unit concludes with a Makeathon, in which girls have a chance to work on their own creative projects. The club is open to students of any gender.<br><br>You do not need to have any experience with computers or coding at all to be successful and have fun. If you do have experience, you will have the opportunity to work at your level.<br><br>We are going to be meeting on Thursdays this semester, from September - December. We will meet at 3:45 in Mrs. Reeg's room (room 604) and then head down to the lab (room 402) to meet our instructors from CU Boulder by 3:50. The club will end at 5:00.<br>

Bobcat 360{327c43d9-e59e-4fe0-8295-efaf4ec1418a}Bobcat 360<p>​Bobcat 360 is a part of every 6th grader’s first year at Angevine Middle School and affects all of our students as well.  Bobcat 360 is an orientation and transition program that is used by all of the middle schools in the Boulder Valley School District.  Schools using these programs report higher attendance, fewer discipline problems and referrals, improved school climate, and a belief that student academic achievement is higher. </p>

Students learn to act and write scripts, songs, spoken-word poetry, and perform with Jozer Guerrero and Mari Burgos from Su Teatro, one of the best Latino theatre groups in the country. Plus, students play games, have fun, meet guest artists and speakers, gain confidence, make new friends, and go on great field trips – all with a focus on learning about environmental, economic, social/cultural, and personal sustainability. Student Council{327c43d9-e59e-4fe0-8295-efaf4ec1418a}Student Council<p>​The Angevine Student Council, a strong program at Angevine, is focused on tapping the spirit of the student body and providing support for our school and our community.  Student Council coordinates Spirit Weeks, plans school activities, encourages school spirit, sells spirit wear, and promotes school pride by volunteering to help with Angevine landscaping and cleaning up the school grounds.</p>
