Special Programs
AMS is a student-centered middle school with an emphasis on academic achievement and belonging for all students. At Angevine, we feel that addressing the needs of the whole child by including creative and enriching experiences is essential to a comprehensive curriculum. All of our students are taught in grade level teams supported by content area teachers who collaborate to provide an integrated approach to delivering standards-based curriculum. We also have dedicated administrators, counselors and student support staff who are here to help your student navigate middle school. We have a seven period schedule plus an advisory at the beginning of the day, and students attend a lunch with students close to their grade.
On Wednesdays, Angevine runs a Late Start Wednesday. Students attend all seven periods on a shortened schedule but do not have an advisory class that day. Teachers engage in professional development about best practice using data from frequent common formative and summative assessments. Students arrive at school at 9:45 a.m.
At Angevine we are committed to relationships, which are fundamental in supporting students during these transitional development years. Angevine is unique in that we offer a pre-engineering program, which feeds into the Centaurus High School engineering track, an award winning visual and musical arts program, and new technology built into every classroom in order to foster the success of the 21st century learner.
In addition, we have an extensive bullying prevention/positive behavior support program and many active student groups such as Student Council, Robotics Club, Art Club, Chess Club, and extensive athletic offerings.
