Angevine is an AVID School. That means that we teach students using instructional strategies that are research-based and best for all students. We focus on Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading as foundational strategies. We are so excited to offer the AVID teaching philosophy to all Angevine students, and we know that this will help prepare them for whatever lies ahead: that might be taking an advanced class, excelling in high school, attending college, or finding their right career path. We are especially excited to implement these teaching strategies this year with our new innovation spaces, which aim to give students agency in their own learning.
AVID is also an elective program offered to 7th and 8th graders for good students who want to be great students and school leaders. AVID Elective studnets may also be first in their families to be college-bound. This year our two AVID Elective teachers are Vanessa Smith and Tamara McKay.
If you have questions about our AVID Schoolwide Philosophy or if your child is interested in taking the AVID Elective their 7th or 8th grade year, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
